SPRING SOCCER

Introduce your kids to the game of soccer. Smaller fields, goals, teams and players make this a fun learning environment and a great family outing. Volunteer coaches are always appreciated for this family activity.
Division: Preschool ages 4 and 5, separate divisions if participation allows.

REC SOCCER
Our recreational league is broke into appropriate age groups with an emphasis on participation. Learn the game of soccer, get into shape and have fun at the same time.
Division: Grades K– 6th grade, boys & girls
Registration: January 28 - February 19
Program Dates: Saturdays, April 12 - May 31
Fees: Family Member: $35 ($50 w/jersey)
Program Member:$50 ($65 w/jersey)

Shin guards and the Siouxland Y Youth Sports Jersey are mandatory to play in the league. No jewelry can be worn during practices and games.
All mailed registrations must be postmarked by February 19. Any registrations dropped off at the Y must be done before 9:00pm on February 19.
After February 19, there will be a $10 late fee and players will be put on a waiting list until room is available.

T-BALL
|
|
The Little Sluggers and Babe Ruth T-Ball players are learning the same basic skills as their older counterparts, but for many this may be their first team type experience. Children are placed on teams of ten players. Participants are given basic instruction on hitting off the Tee, fielding and base running, with an emphasis on fun and family involvement. Volunteer coaches are always appreciated.
Little Sluggers: Boys & Girls 4 and 5 years old (in preschool)
Babe Ruth: Boys & Girls Kindergarten & 1st Grade (Fall, 2008)
Registration: March 21 - May 12
Program Dates: June 7 - July 26 (no games July 5)
Fees: Member: $25 ($40 w/jersey)
Non-Member: $40 ($55 w/jersey)
Location: SYA Softball Complex, 101 Riverside Blvd, Sioux City, IA
Equipment: Participants must provide their own glove. Rubber cleats are optional.
Teams: Players are placed onto teams by the Y Sports Staff based on schools in which they attend and area where they live.

3 V 3 SUMMER HOOPSTERS
|
|
What better way to stay in shape, work on your game and spend time with your friends. Participants should get their teams together and register as teams. Games will be played on Monday evenings. A league tournament will be held at the end of this program. Volunteer team managers will assist during each game time. Practices are optional in this league.
Division: Boys and Girls Grades 2-8
Separate boys & girls divisions for each of the following grades (if participation allows):2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th
Teams: Register by team only. Maximum of 6 players, minimum of 4 players on a team. No guest players allowed.
Program Dates: June 2 - July 7
Days: Games will be played on Monday evenings
Tournament: July 14, End of season tournament (included with initial league fees). Medals will be given to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams in each
division.
Coaches: Volunteer head coaches are needed to coach our teams. Please complete the head coach registration on the player’s registration form to coach your child’s team.
Uniforms: The Siouxland Y youth sports jersey is required for all our sports. The jersey is $15.00 in addition to the league fees.

INDOOR SOCCER

Indoor soccer is a fast paced game with lots of opportunity for young and experienced players. Team size is limited to allow for the most playing time possible for each participant.
Division: Kindergarten thru 6th Grade, Boys & Girls (separate divisions if participation allows)
Registration: September 24 - November 19 (after November 19 there will be a $10.00 late fee and players will be put on a waiting list until room is available)
Program Dates: January 4 - February 24 (No games will be played on February 3, Super Bowl Sunday)
Fees: Family Member: $30 ($45 w/jersey) Program Member: $45 ($60 w/jersey)
Shin guards and the Siouxland Y Youth Sports Jersey are mandatory to play in the league. No cleats, tennis shoes only.

HAPPY HOOPS BASKETBALL

Happy Hoops is a great way to get your preschool child started with the game of basketball. Success comes easy, thanks to 6 foot baskets, smaller balls and structured practices. We offer two sessions of this popular activity.
Division: Preschool age 4 & 5, Boys & Girls (separate divisions if participation allows)
Session I: October 27 - December 15 (No games November 22, Thanksgiving Holiday)
Registration Deadline: Friday, September 21

SPIRIT BASKETBALL

Spirit league is the next step in our progressive basketball program. At this level, 6 foot hoops are used for Kindergarten and 8 1/2 foot baskets for 1st grade. Emphasis is placed on learning the skills to play at a beginning level.

Youth league is our top developmental program for basketball. Participants practice 1-2 times per week and games will be played on Saturdays. Character Development is a building block for all Sports programs at the Y.

| Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. |
| Children of adult members are not eligible for member rates unless they are part of a family membership. Y members must be current to receive member activity rates. |
| The Y reserves the right to cancel any activity based on low enrollment. The activity fee will be refunded or credited in full for this reason. |
| All scheduled activity times, fees, staff may be changed or cancelled at the discretion of Siouxland Y staff. |
| A $10 late fee will be assessed and players will be put on a waiting list after the registration deadline. All mailed registrations must be postmarked by the last day of registration. |
| A $10 service charge will be charged to individuals dropping from an activity after enrollment. |
| No refunds will be given after the coaches meeting is held. |
