| YMCA Swim Lessons |

|
The purpose of the YMCA Swim Lesson Program is for children to develop a competency in swimming, along with confidence and endurance. A child is advanced to the next level only when he or she can perform the skills within his or her level proficiency. This occurs at different rates with different children. Each child is given the same care and respect in their journey through swimming instruction.

2008 Lesson Schedule

Aquatots
(classes meet 1 time/week for 6 weeks)
Fall Session II: October 27 - December 8
Shrimp (6 months-2 years old): Mondays, 4:45-5:15pm
Perch: (2-4 years old): Mondays, 5:30-6:00pm
Location: Family Fun Pool
Fees: Family Member - $15 Non-Member - $45
6-Week Evening Lessons
(Classes meet 1 time per week. Choose from Monday, Tuesday or Thursday)
Fall Session II: October 27 - December 11 (no lessons the week of November 24)
Preschool Lessons (Pike, Eel, Ray & Starfish): 5:30-6:00pm
Location: Family Fun Pool
Youth Lessons (Polliwog, Guppy, Minnow, Fish, Flying Fish & Shark): 6:15-7:00pm
Location: Fitness Pool
Fees: Family Member - $20 Non-Member - $55
Swim Lesson Party!
At the end of each session of swim lessons, participants and their families are invited to a Swim Lesson Party. We will celebrate your child's success with refreshments and swimming in the Family Fun Pool.

Registration
|
|
Registrations will be taken until the Friday before the session begins. Register anytime during business hours at the Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA or CLICK HERE TO REGISTER ONLINE. Registrations taken after the start of the session will be assessed a $10 late fee.

Swimming Lesson Procedures
|
|
Make up classes are not scheduled in the event of a holiday, illness, or occurrence that is not within the control of the Siouxland Y.
Participants must be present at the first lesson unless prior notification is given to the Aquatics Coordinator in order to keep the place in the class.
Parents are encouraged to attend a 5 minute deck orientation at the first lesson, but will then be escorted to the viewing area for the remainder of the lesson. Parents will be invited back to the deck for the final lesson of the session.
Parents are to enter the pool deck through the men’s/ women’s locker rooms only. Shoes are prohibited on the pool deck.
Class schedule subject to change based on participation. The minimum for each class is 3 for preschool and 4 for youth. The max for each class is as follows: Aquatots 1:12, Preschool lesson 1:6, Youth 1:8 and Adults 1:12. We will add classes according to demand. If there is less than four children in attendance for swim lessons, the class will be cancelled.
