Pre-School: Ages 3 - 5
|
|
Pike: (Pre-School 1)This class is for first time swimmers age 3-5. Water adjustment, independence and ease of movement, comfort and confidence are the main focus of this class. This class meets in the warm water Family Fun Pool and lasts 30 minutes.
Eel: (Pre-School 2)This class is for a recent graduate of Pike, or children age 3-5 who are comfortable in the water and ready to learn to swim. Floating, kicking and introduction to strokes are the focus of this class. This class meets in the warm water Family Fun Pool and lasts for 30 minutes.

Youth: Age 5 and up
|
|
Polliwog: (Youth 1): This class serves as an introduction to the pool. Beginning primary skills are the focus: supported front and back float; intro to noodles and kick boards; front and back flutter kick; submerging head.
Guppy: (Youth 2):Recent graduate of Polliwog or a student with basic swim skills. Primary skill focus: unsupported front and back float, with kick; intro to elementary backstroke; jumping into 4 foot depth; retrieval of objects.
Minnow: (Youth 3): Recent graduate of Guppy. Primary skill focus: 25 yard swim elementary backstroke; intro to the front crawl; intro to backstroke; intro to breaststroke; intro to diving; retrieval from 5 foot depth, treading water - 1 min.
Flying Fish: (Youth 4): Recent graduate of Minnow. Primary skill focus: 25 yard swim of the following: front crawl, breaststroke, backstroke; 50 yard swim elementary backstroke; intro to butterfly; intro to racing dive; tread 2 min.
Shark:(Youth 5): Recent graduate of Flying Fish. Primary skill focus: 100 yards of front crawl, breaststroke, backstroke, elementary backstroke, 25 yard butterfly, intro to flip turns, tread 3 min.
