Preschool Level: 3-5 Years of age
|
|
Pike: This level is for the new swimmer. Children will develop safe pool behavior, and work on water adjustment and independent movement in the water.
Eel: This level is for children who are comfortable in the water. Skills taught are kicking, diving, floating, and the progressive paddle stroke. Children can swim across the pool without assistance by the end of this level.
Ray: At this level children will build endurance by swimming on their front and back. They will learn to tread water and perform more progressive diving skills. Children can swim across the pool on their front and back without assistance by the end of this level.
Starfish: Children at this level refine their storkes. Skills taught include underwater swimming and more refined rhythmic breathing. Children can swim a length of the pool on their front and back at the end of this level.

Youth Levels: 6 years old and up

|
Polliwog: This is the beginning level for school aged children. Skills taught will be the front paddle stroke, side and back paddle, and beginning diving skills. Children can swim across the pool without assistance by the end of this level.
Guppy: Skills taught are the lead up strokes to the front and back crawl; sidestroke, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke. Children can swim a length of the pool without assistance at the end of this level.
Minnow: Children will further refine the lead-up strokes from Guppy level. They will be able to swim a length of each stroke by the end of this level.
Fish: Students work to perfect the crawl stroke, elementary backstroke, back crawl, sidestroke with turns. They are introduced to the butterfly stroke.
Flying Fish: At this advanced level, students work on refining their strokes and increasing their endurance.
Shark: Students continue to improve their strokes, with starts and turns, and are introduced to the inverted breaststroke, the trudgen crawl, and the overarm sidestroke.
Personal safety, Personal growth, Stroke development, water games and sports, and rescue skills are taught at all levels of our program.
